The Centre for Robert Burns Studies - Shaw Scholarship

Applications are invited for a £5,000 scholarship in Burns Studies at the University of Glasgow for the academic session 2015-16. This will be awarded to a student undertaking a one-year postgraduate research (MPhil) project on any aspect of Robert Burns. Projects might be on the poetry, songs, prose, his historical and cultural context, reception, ‘afterlife’, contemporary significance or any other suitable topic relating to Burns’s work, life and legacy.  

Applications are made in the normal way to the College of Arts Postgraduate Office, including a research proposal clearly marked ‘CRBS Shaw Scholarship’.

Informal discussion of potential proposals can be entered into with the Co-Directors of the CRBS, Professor Gerard Carruthers or Dr Kirsteen McCue.
