Student Testimonials

The Centre for Literature, Theology and the Arts, provides a unique space for interdisciplinary study within a genuinely supportive environment. As such, there is no better place to engage with the significant questions and crises arising from the contemporary meetings between religions and cultures and explored through the creative arts. The Centre’s resident scholars, all leaders in their respective fields, provide strong supervisory support for the interdisciplinary research that is becoming increasingly necessary within the Academy. The variety of doctoral projects makes for a vibrant community of PhD students who are always willing to provide collegiate advice and constructive critique on ongoing work; within the more formal setting of a seminar, in a relaxed lunch-time feedback session, or around a table in the Hetherington Research Club.

My Master’s thesis at California State University Dominguez Hills was highly interdisciplinary so when I wanted to continue my studies in an environment that would support my cross-disciplinary research, I was excited to discover the Centre for Literature, Theology and the Arts at Glasgow.  The Centre offered me the opportunity to work with a highly-talented and well-respected supervisory team who specialise in interdisciplinary research. Through the weekly Centre seminars, I’ve had the opportunity to meet scholars from all over the globe in an atmosphere that encourages dialogue and exchange.  The Centre has had a tremendous positive impact on my research and my academic life.
