World Religions
World Religions: Within this cluster a number of “religions” outside of the Judeo-Christian tradition are examined. At undergraduate level these run from level 1 right through to honours (and also in the taught masters), thus providing a clear pathway for students. In addition, World Religions is a major component of the weekly research seminars held in the Subject Area, which permits research students to showcase their work and to engage with some of the leading national and international academics who have been invited to Glasgow. There are a number of funded projects (British Institute of Persian Studies and AHRC) and we will have a new research fellow in World Religions for the coming academic year (Religious Studies with a focus on Islam). Research students at taught masters (PG) level also benefit from the critical study of religion from various staff within TRS.
