Accent change in Glaswegian: A sociophonetic investigation

Return to STELLA projects

In 1999, a one-year project (funded by The Leverhulme Trust), investigating changes in the speech of Scotland's largest city - Glasgow - from a sociolinguistic and a phonetic perspective, was carried out from the Departments of English Language and Statistics.  The Investigators were Jane Stuart-Smith and Fiona Tweedie and the Research Assistant was Claire Timmins.
