Student Experience

The student-centred focus of the University, its great facilities and a very active student body all go to create one of the friendliest campuses in the country.  

Study and Work Experience Off Campus

Depending on the programme followed, a student can take advantage of a number of learning opportunities beyond campus. The University's exchange programme enables students in the School of Computing Science to take advantage of a year's study at another institution, including universities in Europe and North America. Software Engineering and Electronic & Software Engineering students undertake a mandatory summer industrial placement between their 3rd and 4th years of study, while many other students find rewarding summer internships in the IT industry, either locally or further afield.

CompSoc

CompSoc is an active student-led association of Computing Science and Software Engineering students, that organises extra-curricular educational events and recreational and social activities throughout the year, encouraging social interaction and providing the foundation for life-long  friendships.
