Research interests

Applying synchrotron techniques and vibrational spectroscopy to study heterogeneous catalysts during reaction. I also have an interest in developing combined techniques, i.e. performing XAFS and DRIFTS studies simultaneously to study solid-gas phase reactions. To extend this to investigate 3-phase catalytic reactions, we are commissioning an attenuated total reflection (ATR-FTIR) set up here in Glasgow with an aim to develop a version compatible for X-ray techniques.
