Postgraduate research opportunities
The School of Chemistry at the University of Glasgow is part of the WestCHEM Research School. The WestCHEM Graduate School has around 150 Chemistry PhD students. Around half of these are based at the University of Glasgow, engaged in a wide range of Chemistry research.
The areas covered by this research include Organic Synthesis, Natural Products Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, Physical Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Protein Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Catalysis, Surface Chemistry, Nanochemistry, Materials Chemistry, Molecular Magnetism, Inorganic Synthesis, Metal Cluster Chemistry, Structural Chemistry, Magnetic Resonance, Optical Spectroscopy. The Chemistry Graduate School at the University of Glasgow expects to have a range of PhD studentships available for projects beginning in October of each year.

Applications for Research PhDs
Applications for admission to the WestCHEM Graduate School in the School of Chemistry should be made via the College Graduate School.
Informal enquiries can be made to the prospective supervisor or to the Head of the Chemistry Graduate School, Dr Graeme Cooke.
Applicants should have or expect to get at least a second class honours degree or equivalent.
