Laura Bissell teaches Theatre Studies at the University of Glasgow and delivers the Critical and Contextual Studies strand of the Contemporary Performance Practice BA Honours course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the RSAMD). Laura studied at the University of Glasgow and at the University of New South Wales in Sydney and recently returned to Australia to present her research at the Somatechnics conference at Macquarie University.

Research Interests

Laura’s research interests include: contemporary performance practices; technology and performance; cyborg performance; live art; body art; feminist performance; film and video in performance.

Laura’s research explores the relationship between the female body and technology in contemporary performance. Laura is currently revising her doctoral research for publication.
