Honorary Professor Richard Paterson

Honorary Professor Richard Paterson, former Head of Research and Scholarship at the BFI, where he had been on the staff for more than 30 years, responsible for developing the BFI’s partnerships with higher education and for much of the BFI’s policy work in relation to intellectual property issues.  He has published widely and led two major longitudinal research projects in the 1990s: the Television Audience Tracking Study and the Television Industry Tracking Study.  Richard was a co-investigator for the AHRC-funded project based at CCPR on the investigation of creativity in policy and practice, and co-investigator for the AHRC-funded history of the BFI (principal investigator: Geoffrey Nowell-Smith, Department of History, Queen Mary, University of London).  He is a participant in the Centre's Policy Conversations.
