The role of commercial media in contemporary European democratic societies was under discussion at the international conference on Private Television in Europe organized by Vrije Universiteit Brussel, SMIT/imec and the Association of Commercial Television in Europe (ACT) in Brussels in June 2017 at which Gillian Doyle gave an invited presentation on ‘Ownership, Data, Power and Content'.
