Biography

Seemanti joined the Adam Smith Business School as a Post-doctoral Fellow in May 2019. She is working on the ESRC-DFID funded project “Collective Empowerment using Digital Medium: Evidence from Education Sector in Karnataka”, for which the PI is Professor Sayantan Ghosal.

Before joining the School, Seemanti worked as a Research Associate for the Go-Well project in the School of Urban Studies. In project generated empirical evidence in relation to the effects of holistic urban regeneration on mental and physical health of individuals.

Seemanti completed both a PhD in Economics and a masters at the University of Glasgow.

Prior to this, Seemanti has worked in the investment banking industry as a risk specialist. She has earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta.
