As a result of Adam Smith Business School’s AACSB accreditation, it has earned the right to establish a Beta Gamma Sigma chapter.

A ceremony to recognise our top business students took place this week when the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Glasgow Chapter was officially installed in the Adam Smith Business School.

Nineteen of our highest achieving undergraduate students were inducted to become Beta Gamma Sigma members and join 810k members around the world.

Christina Allrich, Director Alumni and Chapter Operations, and Lynn Zoellner, Senior Manager, Chapter Operations at Beta Gamma Sigma conducted the Installation Ceremony through Skype.

Following the inauguration ceremony, Professor John Finch, Head of Adam Smith Business School and Professor Robbie Paton, Accreditation Director, hosted the BGS Glasgow Chapter Recognition Ceremony at the Gilbert Scott Building. The students received BGS membership certificates and the key of Beta Gamma Sigma, a symbol of the ideals of Honour, Wisdom and Earnestness, upon which Beta Gamma Sigma was founded.

John acknowledged the students’ achievement in both academic and extra curriculum excellence and talked about the School’s mission to bring together inspiring people for the purposes of research, learning and teaching. He also discussed with the students how the school can continue to support this newly formed group.

University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School joins just five other UK universities to establish a Beta Gamma Sigma chapter. The BGS Collegiate Chapter will enable the School to work more closely with AACSB to enhance our student and alumni experience.

This recognition of academic excellence will benefit the School and its students through:

• Opportunities for further studies and employment

• Opportunities for student leadership and community service

• Increased connection to a global network of top scholars and business leaders
