Adam Smith Business School launch

The University of Glasgow Adam Smith Business School was delighted to host a launch event to celebrate the renaming of the School in honour of our most famous alumnus, Adam Smith.

The launch, which took place on 6th February 2013 in the University’s Bute Hall, commemorates the close connections Adam Smith had with the University.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Michael Russell, the Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, who delivered an engaging lecture entitled, “Enlightened Imagination – Scotland’s Contribution to a Better World.” The lecture celebrated the legacy of Adam Smith and his involvement in the Scottish Enlightenment. Michael Russell emphasised its continued importance to Scottish education today and finished by answering questions from the audience. 

We would also like to convey our thanks to students, alumni, business partners, staff and members of the public who attended and who helped us celebrate this special event.

The Adam Smith Business School strives to carry on the legacy of Adam Smith and produce interdisciplinary research and holistic thinkers that engage with and impact society, and enrich the wider world.
