Volunteers
We cherish every minute our alumni spend on volunteering and therefore we are very careful in recommending the right volunteer programme to you. Currently we have two volunteering programmes available:
A unique opportunity to volunteer your time, talents and commercial expertise to the benefit of charities and social enterprises
The Adam Smith Business School is delighted to be working in partnership with the Cranfield Trust to offer alumni a unique opportunity to use their business skills for lasting benefit. Founded in 1988, the Cranfield Trust has earned a deserved reputation as the UK’s leading provider of free management consultancy support to non profit organisations. Many of the charities they support with are local community groups providing support services to children and adults affected by disability, poverty and social exclusion. Volunteers provide vital management support to charities operating in a very tough climate.
Volunteering for a Cranfield Trust assignment is an excellent way of donating time and management expertise to help a non profit organisation grow, and to beneficially touch the lives of many individuals. Projects are tailored to fit around your work and other commitments and are very flexible and represent and excellent personal development opportunity.
“For me this was a very rewarding project. It was my first experience of working with a charity and provided me with an insight into the voluntary sector. I enjoyed using my business skills in a different environment and was made to feel very welcome – I think the project was a great success for both parties.”
Volunteer feedback
“The project is not far from where I live, and it was something positive to do, rather than just chucking money in a bucket. It becomes a very real contribution. It has been quite a challenge, but the people have been fantastic.”
