Sir Fitzroy Maclean PostgraduateĀ Scholarships

Description

The University of Glasgow is pleased to award 2 Sir Fitzroy Maclean Postgraduate scholarships worth £4500 each.

Sir Fitzroy Maclean was a Scottish soldier, author and politician. Awarded an Honorary degree of DLitt from the University in 1969, Sir Fitzroy Maclean had a long relationship with the University before he died in 1996. In 1997 a scholarship with respect to Sir Fitzroy’s interests and passions, and lecture series were created in his memory.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must:

  • be a national of one of the countries linked to Sir Fitzroy’s interests: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro
  • hold an offer for any Postgraduate taught programme

The award is for one year and must be used in the year of the award; it cannot be deferred or transferred

£3000 fee discount + £1500 stipend paid in December and April

How to apply

There is no separate application form.  Applicants who have an offer of a place for a postgraduate programme will automatically considered for an award.

 

Deadline

 

Applicants holding a programme offer by 1 December will receive their scholarship outcome by 16 December

Applicants holding a programme offer by 1 March will receive their scholarship outcome by 16 March

Applicants holding a programme offer by 1 June will receive their scholarship outcome by 16 June
