The Steering Group is composed of 15 members who are representatives of disciplines generally required to collaborate on HAI research projects, and/or have proven track records within their fields and have the ability to represent their peers. It is intended that the Steering Group will meet quarterly.
Professor Alistair Leanord (Director)
Consultant Medical Microbiologist working at the Southern General Hospital under the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board. Has extensive clinical and infection control experience in the treatment and control of infections. Research interests include health care associated infections, respiratory infection and diagnostics. Professor John E Coia
Consultant Microbiologist with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow. Director of the Scottish Salmonella Reference Laboratory (SSRL) and the Scottish Clostridium difficile Reference Service and member of the Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food. Professor Tom Evans
