Research Programmes

Research at the CVR spans molecular, structural and cellular levels through to the individual host and affected population, thus integrating molecular and structural virology, cell biology, pathogenesis, epidemiology and mathematical modelling.

Our research activities are focused on seven overlapping research programmes:

•      Antiviral immunity
•      Emerging viruses and arboviruses
•      Epidemiology and evolutionary dynamics 
•      Hepatitis C virus infection 
•      Structural virology
•      Viral genomics and bioinformatics
•      Viruses and cancer

 None of the programmes are conducted in isolation and many investigators have projects spanning more than one programme.
