Clinical studentships

A 3-year MRC-funded programme will be offered to clinical trainees interested in pursuing a clinical academic career. The research projects offered will span the Centre's current programmes, including herpesviruses, hepatitis C virus, retroviruses and papillomaviruses as well as cross cutting themes including host-virus interactions, viral genomics, structural biology/cryo-electron microscopy, epidemiology and mathematical modelling.
Applicants should normally have a medical degree, GMC registration and hold a current Core or Specialty Training Programme position. A BSc degree or equivalent, or evidence of prior research experience, is also desirable.
Informal enquiries may be made to Professor Ruth Jarrett (r.jarrett@vet.gla.ac.uk), from whom further particulars of available projects are available.
Potential applicants should check the strict eligibility criteria for MRC studentships relating to nationality, period and purpose of residency in the UK before applying (see MRC student eligibility requirements).
