Alan Jardine is a Professor of Renal Medicine. His research interests are in the cardiovascular and other long-term complications of renal disease and transplantation, ranging from laboratory based studies on cardiac and vascular function, to international, multicentre trials. He has supervised over a dozen clinical and non-clinical MD/PhD students, including BHF Junior Training Fellows supported by Training Fellowships from the BHF, KRUK, and the British Transplant Society. He has been on the Steering Committee, Data Monitoring and End-Point Committee of many of the largest outcome studies including renal disease and transplantation (ALERT, AURORA, BEACON). He is a member of the Council of the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT) and is Chair of the Kidney Section of ESOT.
