MEDICAL STATISTICS

The Robertson Centre for Biostatistics provides training in medical statistics for non-statisticians.   Our courses could be useful to anyone working in the field of medicine wishing to broaden their knowledge in research methodology or medical statistics.

Our statistics courses are accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG).

The courses are run regularly at the University of Glasgow and are provided free of charge to NHS and University researchers in Greater Glasgow and Clyde.  External attendees are also welcome on payment of a small course fee.

By arrangement, the courses can also be run for commercial companies or other groups, either within the University or in other locations.   Enquiries are welcome and can be made via the contact details provided below. 

We currently run two medical statistics courses:

An Introduction to Medical Statistics for Non-Statisticians (2 day)

RCPSG 12 Credits

Scheduled dates: 18th/19th June 2012

Medical Statistics II for Non-Statisticians (1 day)

RCPSG 6 Credits

Scheduled dates: 20th June 2012

HEALTH ECONOMICS

We can offer an introductory training course in health economics.  This would cover fundamental aspects such as the subject matter of health economics and the ways to apply economic evaluation to the NHS, but it would also emphasise course content that was tailored to your needs.  If you are interested please get in touch stating how many people there are in your group, department or network who will be attending and what venue you propose to use.  We can then provide a quote for the likely cost; with expenses to be covered.
