Dr Minnis has a research focus on child maltreatment and its consequences, particularly on neurodevelopment. This has included work on defining and diagnosing Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), for which she has an international reputation, including studies of behavioural genetics and stress responses in RAD. Most recently she has begun to focus on intervention research in this area and is about to embark upon a randomised controlled trial of an innovative infant mental health intervention for maltreated children.
