Professor Gillberg was the first Chair of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Gothenburg in 1986 and is currently Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at University of Glasgow, and the Head of the Gillberg Neuropsychiatry Centre at Gothenburg University. He has published more than 600 scientific papers, 450 of which are currently at the PubMed site. He is the author of 30 books, 12 of which have been published in five or more languages. He is or has been the editor of many of the leading journals in the field of child neurodevelopment including JCPP, DMCN, JADD, JAD, RIDD and ECAP. He is or has been a visiting Professor at UCL, UCS, NYU, and Strathclyde Universities, Bergen and Odense Universities, Koche and Kobe Universities. He is the winner of many prestigious awards, most recently the 2012 Soderberg medical Prize (“Little Nobel Prize”).
