Scottish Rural Parliament: SSAMIS Stand & Fringe Event (6-8 October 2016)

The aim of the Scottish Rural Parliament is to give voice to rural communities. The SSAMIS team will contribute to this discussions by sharing information on the experiences of migrant populations living in rural Scotland and the issues they face in their everyday lives.

The aim of the Scottish Rural Parliament is to give voice to rural communities. The Scottish Rural Parliament 2016 brings together 400 people from across rural Scotland to discuss the issues of greatest importance to rural communities. Participants of the event will be agreeing a Manifesto for rural Scotland and deciding what actions need to be taken and by who, to ensure our rural communities are empowered, connected and sustainable

The SSAMIS team will contribute to these discussions by sharing information on the experiences of migrant populations living in rural Scotland and the issues they face in their everyday lives. We will also be sharing our experiences of engaging with migrant communities and ideas for community- building.

SSAMIS will be holding a stand at the main event (6-7 October 2016) and also carrying out a workshop as part of the fringe event (8 October 2016).
