Research Interests

I am currently researching environmental risk factors for cases of Campylobacter infection in humans within Scotland. This will be modeled in a frequentist statistical framework. Furthermore, as the data spans seven years spatio-temporal k-function analysis to identify flares of infection.

My previous research concerned environmental and demographic determinants of Foot and Mouth Disease during the 2001 UK epidemic, the density of the susceptible livestock and the presence of geographical barriers to infection were the principal determinants of infection. These statistical models were used to construct maps of the risk of infection.
