Translation Studies: Translation & Professional Practice

Dissertation/Translation Project

The Dissertation or Translation Project is a compulsory element of the MSc programme and provides an opportunity for students to pursue their specialist interests and demonstrate the skills and powers of research and translation which have been developed during the year.

This written assessment will be 12,000-15,000 words in length and developed with the advice and guidance of a supervisor.  It will consist of either an annotated translation into English (maximum 60% translation, minimum 40% introduction and commentary) or a critical discussion of translation in relation to theory, practice or history.
