Teaching Adults

Careers & Testimonials

Every year we ask our graduates where they have gone onto with regards to employment.  Many of our graduates have gained employment in the Higher Education sector, including the University of Glasgow, the University of Edinburgh and National Taipai University, as University Teachers or working on projects relating to adult education. Other graduates have entered the Further Education sector and Local Councils.  Further areas of employment where graduates have advanced their careers have been within Adult Literacies, Nursing teaching and teaching CPD for dental nurses.

What past students have said about the programme

"Specifically by introducing the topic of widening participation and highlighting some issues around it. In a general sense, by sharpening my awareness of my responsibilities to students and introducing strategies/attitudes which would be helpful."

“It has given me the theory and practical training I need to do in my job most effectively.”

“I have been taught a lot about the theories behind adult learning that in turn has allowed me to consider the type of educator I am (and) has encouraged me to take a more mature and critical approach to my chosen career.”

“I have learned how much of an impact educators can have on their students' learning through their stances and actions. I plan to use my qualification to improve my practice and move on to teach a wider variety of subjects. I would also like to get my dissertation research published. My job has improved and I am being moved on to bigger and better things.”
