Optional Courses

Students on the Postgraduate Certificate in Real Estate are required to select 20 credits of optional courses from those listed below:

  • Professional Practice, Ethics & Management (10 credits) seeks to cultivate a reflective and legally aware approach to questions of ethics and values in real estate and planning professional practice.
  • Real Estate Finance & Investment (10 credits) explores the risk and return characteristics of direct and securitised real estate, draws comparison with the investment characteristics of other asset classes and examines the role of real estate in a mixed asset portfolio.
  • Strategic Real Estate Management is intended to help students understand the full spectrum of activities, options and decisions involved in the strategic management of a real estate portfolio.

Students who wish to use this qualification as an entrance route on to an MSc degree within the Real Estate, Planning and Regeneration programme are advised to select optional courses that are available on the MSc they wish to join. Guidance on this will be provided by the REPR Programme Director.
