Primary Physical Education (inservice programme)
Programme structure
The Programme runs on a part-time basis and all students undertake three 20 credit core courses. The class contact part of the programme runs within the primary school year, September to June as follows:
Course 1: September – December
Course 2: January – March
Course 3: April – June.
Students begin preparation for their research project during the taught phase of Course 3 and submit the following year in March

Teaching methods
The teaching approaches used encourage the active participation of programme members in the teaching and learning process. Course members engage in a variety of lecture and seminar sessions while practical workshops provide opportunities for participants to extend personal knowledge and understanding of content and methodology specific to activities. The blend of theory and practical is a recognised strength of the programme.
