Why this degree?

This course exploits the specific research expertise of members of staff. It accommodates those wishing to build on undergraduate study of analytic philosophy so as to acquire a deeper, and more specialized, understanding of contemporary analytic treatments of core problems in philosophy. In particular, it accommodates those wishing to prepare for doctoral research on a specific philosophical topic pertaining to one of these disciplines.

Our strength in the philosophy of mind is reflected in the fact that the Subject hosts a Centre for the Study of Perceptual Experience that regularly sponsors seminars, workshops, conferences and reading groups. Philosophy also hosts the Centre for Philosophy and Religion.
