Organisational Leadership (Oman) MSc
This programme is delivered through Majan University College in Oman on a distance learning basis with intensive study weekends. It is available to students in Oman and surrounding countries.
- The programme combines a general focus on the leadership of organisations, with a focus on the leadership of specific human services and agency sectors.
- It is a blended programme with intensive teaching days supported by substantial documentation on the University’s virtual learning environment Moodle.
- People from various human service backgrounds, health, education and public service will share an understanding of leadership. It will also allow you to specialise in your own interest area.
- The programme highlights the contextualized nature of leadership types and levels of leadership and their link to policy environments.
- It will develop your personal leadership attributes, and will improve an understanding of the cultural and situational factors that shape leadership practice.

Core courses
- Understanding leadership, including both the theory and styles of leadership and the practical issues facing leaders in times of change
- Practitioner Enquiry and Decision Making
- Personal study.
Optional courses
- Leadership in context (this course contains a generic organisational perspective, but allows you to specialise in one of six areas: schools, higher education, adult and community education, public service, early childhood and children’s services).

Academic entry requirements
Normally a first degree with 2.75 GPA. Experience in a leadership role in a human service setting. In some cases substantial leadership experience and further educational activity can be used to enable an applicant to be offered a place. These exceptions will be decided on a case by case basis.

English language requirements
For applicants whose first language is not English, the University sets a minimum English Language proficiency level.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic module (not General Training):
- overall score 6.5
- no sub-test less than 6.0
- or equivalent scores in another recognised qualification (see below)
Common equivalent English language qualifications:
- ibTOEFL: 92; no sub-test less than 20
- CAE (Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English): B minimum
- CPE (Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English): C minimum
- PTE Academic (Person Test of English, Academic test): 60; no sub-test less than 59

Glasgow International College offers Foundation courses to upgrade your academic qualifications.
Visa requirements and proof of English language level
It is a visa requirement to provide information on your level of English based on an internationally recognised and secure English language test. All test reports must be no more than 2 years old. A list of these can be found on the UK Border Agency website. If you have never taken one of these tests before, you can get an initial idea of your level by using the Common European Framework self-assessment grid which gives you a level for each skill (e.g. listening B1/writing B2 etc.) However, please note that this is not a secure English language test and it is not sufficient evidence of your level of English for visa requirements.
