Start date for Programme
Entry to the MSc in Media Management takes place each Autumn in September. Teaching starts in mid-September, usually preceded by a week of Orientation and Induction activities.
How is the course taught and assessed?
The Masters/MSc Media Management degree programme involves a taught course (that runs from September to April) followed by an individual supervised dissertation. The taught component involves a combination of lectures, seminars, workshops and group-work sessions as well as regular presentations to the Media Management degree course class from senior and experienced figures in the media industry. Core teaching is carried out by specialist staff in CCPR and in the Glasgow Business School. Assessment is based primarily on individual written essays and assignments but also involves groupwork projects, presentations and an examined element.
What sort of jobs do graduates go on to?
The Masters/MSc in Media Management at Glasgow covers a range of subject areas relevant to a career, including economics, business strategy, media policy, intellectual property rights and marketing. At the same time, the programme is designed to offer an academically engaging and rewarding experience. MSc in Media Management graduates may expect to go on to a variety of careers across the media sector (including print, broadcast and online) or to embark on policy advisory and consultancy roles or to pursue further postgraduate studies by research.
