Marine & Freshwater Ecology & Environmental Management
EU INTERREG Scholarships
For Autumn 2013 entry, there is one EU INTERREG scholarship available for the MRes Marine and Freshwater Ecology and Environmental Management.
We have received funding for one scholarship from EU INTERREG for this exciting programme which provides training in research skills and principles within the general area of marine, coastal and freshwater ecology and environmental management.
Students (from the UK or EU) will each receive their fees paid in full together with a stipend of £13,726. There will also be additional funding to support their research projects.
The programme consists of a taught component and two 20-week research projects developed in conjunction with government agencies and likely to involve field and laboratory work at SCENE Field Station at Loch Lomond and at a partner organisation in Ireland. After each project, you will write a scientific report.
The programme draws on the research expertise of a large number of staff at the University and also staff at other partner institutions such as the Queen's University Belfast and the Loughs Agency. This allows you the chance to obtain experience in a wide range of modern research techniques and to work with agencies directly involved in environmental policy development and management.
Interested applicants can find further information on the programme pages. You must first apply for a place on the programme as normal. Candidates who have a conditional admission offer for this programme are eligible to apply for the scholarship via covering letter, CV and the names of two academic referees.
Scholarship applications and any queries should be e-mailed to Hannah Taylor no later than 21 June 2013.
