Landscape Monitoring & Mapping
Background
Based largely on existing courses from the successful MSc in Geospatial and Mapping Sciences, with input from the Earth Systems Research Group, this programme aims to give students a thorough knowledge of the technical methods of land surveying and geospatial information handling in the context of issues surrounding the capture and processing of data to monitor and map change in the physical landscape.
Target audience:
- students with first degree in Geography, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, etc., seeking a career in environmental monitoring or management;
- existing employees in environmental agencies requiring additional knowledge of mapping technology, especially in the context of understanding landscape change;
- research students in environmental/Earth surface topics as preparation for a PhD;
- those involved in preparing for, or reacting to environmental emergencies.
