"To further enhance my skill set, I think the course content of my programme is ideal. The coursework and course project are great learning experiences. I also like the mix of students from various nationalities and backgrounds. One of the things I enjoyed the most about my time in the Business School was the Cèilidh party organized to welcome the new students."

International Finance
Meet Mohd Farizal Haron
Mohd Farizal Haron graduated from the MFin in International Finance programme in 2009. He is now an Assistant Manager for Employees Provident Fund in Malaysia.
What are you doing now?
I’m currently working as an assistant manager at the Malaysia’s Employees Provident Fund.
How has your degree been useful and/or how do you think it will be useful (in relation to future plans)?
Firstly, it has helped me to secure a job even before I graduated. The degree is certainly going to be useful in climbing up corporate ladders, and as the degree was conferred by the renowned University of Glasgow, it sure will help me position myself as a hot candidate for my future career path.
Can you offer any advice for prospective Accounting & Finance postgraduate students?
Practicalities are the most important bit in studying. Theories provide fair and reasonable backgound of a problem/situation, but the ability to practice it plays the most vital role in ensuring one’s success.
Any advice for prospective students?
Study, have fun, go out, and enjoy what Glasgow has got to offer.

"This university is famous in the field of Finance. It is a unique chance as well as a great challenge for me to be able to continue my postgraduate study here. It will also be highly beneficial for my future career.
The lecturers in my programme are trying their best to give us a general overview of the various topics, but they also offer us the space to explore the concepts and ideas and to figure out the details by ourselves. My lecturers really allow me to experience different approaches to study and I really enjoy working under their guidance. The students are also nice and they are willing to share their opinion with you and respect your idea.
Glasgow is a big city with many stores and shopping malls. There are also many sightseeing spots. I particularly like walking around the city. People here are very nice and they like giving a hand whenever help is needed. I really feel happy and safe in Glasgow."
