International Business & Entrepreneurship
Graduate benefits
Who is the programme for?
Our innovative programme combines the latest knowledge in international business and international entrepreneurship. If you would like to develop the skills and knowledge in international business, management and entrepreneurship to prepare for a career in international business or to establish your own international venture, this programme is for you.
Ideally, as an applicant you will have a good honours degree in business-related subjects. International business experience is encouraged but not required, and may be considered in lieu of academic study in business.
The degree is associated with the internationally acknowledged Centre for Internationalisation & Enterprise Research (CIER) and academics from the centre are responsible for much of the teaching.
What will the programme give me?
An in-depth knowledge of international business subjects, including global business environment, international marketing, international strategy, international entrepreneurship & innovation and cross-cultural management. Important contemporary topics studied include off shoring, value chains & networks, intellectual property protection, ethics & corporate social responsibility, and ICT.
You will develop critical skills in opportunity identification and implementation; managing across cultures; business planning for international markets; project management and international marketing.
You will be involved in a consultancy project advising a real company and providing them with a solution to a real business problem. These action-learning projects undertaken on behalf of companies will give you practical experience which will assist you when finding employment or indeed establishing your own international new venture. You will be equipped to deal with business situations and be able to make an immediate contribution to a management role.
