Housing Studies

Background

The Housing Studies Programme consists of two qualifications - the Postgraduate Diploma and the MSc in Housing Studies. It is designed to meet the needs of people working, or looking to work, in the social housing sector in the UK, or in a closely related field.

The Housing Studies Programme aims to provide students with an insight into the development of housing systems, policies and practices, and to provide a framework for discussing the development, financing and management of housing. The HSP also aims to provide students with a range of skills and knowledge needed by housing professionals. The new Programme that began in 2008/9 has been designed to offer more career specific Options routes through Year 2 and these lead to 3 separately named Housing Studies Programme qualifications at Diploma and MSc levels.
