Programme Structure
The MSc HTA requires a total of 180 credits to be completed over the course of the degree.
- 60 credits are made up of your core courses- 3 courses weighted at 20 credits each.
- 60 credits are made up of your optional courses- 3 courses weighted at 20 credits.
The remaining 60 credits come from your research project.
- For more details on each of these segments of your course, see the core and optional courses tab.
- Each of the credits is weighted equally in terms of your final grade. So your 20 credit course will be worth 20/180 (or ~11%) of your final grade. Your 60 credit research project will accordingly count for 60/180 (or ~33%) of your final grade.
- Two of the core courses are taken in Semester 1- HTA: Policy and Principles and Introduction to Statistics. These are assessed in the December examination diet. The third core course will be studied in Semester 2- Introduction to Epidemiology- and will be assessed in the April examination diet.
Your optional courses will be studied in either Semester 2 or Semester 3 and assessed in either April or June.
The research project runs over the course of the academic year and is assessed by marking your research report which you must submit by 4th August 2014.
