Equality & Human Rights (MSc)

Programme Structure

You will take two core courses and four optional courses.  A 12-15000 word dissertation will be submitted in September.

Compulsory Core Courses

  • Equality and Human Rights
  • Methods of Social Research

Speciality Option Courses
You must complete at least three of these courses

  • The Disabling Society
  • Sexualities and Society
  • Racism and Modernity
  • Religion in Society
  • Gender in Society


Further options courses
Students can take all options in Sociology, or one from another subject. Option courses are available from other departments including Politics, Central and East European Studies and Law.

Dissertation
You will complete a 12-15000 word dissertation on a topic of your choice in September.  Topics must be agreed by supervisor in advance.

Assessment
Assessment will be in the format of a 4000 word essay for each course.
