Practical Experience
Members of staff have:
- worked at major law firms advising public and private companies on significant transactions.
- participated in listing and public offers, mergers and takeovers on the London Stock Exchange.
- experience of the regulation and operation of financial markets through work experience at major investment banks.
- experience of the international system of financial regulation through secondment to the International Monetary Fund and acting as consultant to the World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development of the Asia Development Bank.
Academic Excellence
Members of staff:
- hold degrees from Oxford, Edinburgh and London Universities.
- have published widely in leading book and journals on a wide range of issues falling within corporate & financial law.
- are members of the editorial board of significant journals such as the Capital Markets Law Journal (OUP).
Staff Outreach
Members of staff:
- participate in the work of important domestic and international legal associations and networks such as the Law Societies of Scotland and England; the International Law Association; and the Trento Project on the Common Core of European Private Law.
- hold positions at other leading universities (London and the Australian National University).
- are regularly invited to present papers in the UK and abroad and frequently organise guest lectures or workshops in Glasgow.
