The School of Engineering and the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow jointly offer this taught postgraduate MSc degree in Civil Engineering & Management. This innovative programme is aimed at graduate engineers looking to broaden their knowledge of management whilst at the same time furthering their knowledge of civil engineering.
The programme makes use of the combined resources and complementary expertise of the civil engineering and business school staff to deliver a curriculum which is relevant to the needs of industry. You, as a graduate of this programme, will be capable of applying the extremely important aspect of management to engineering projects allowing you to gain an advantage in today’s competitive job market and advance to the most senior positions within an engineering organisation.
Aims
- Provide a rapid and succinct introduction to contemporary business and management issues
- Increase the depth of knowledge in your chosen civil engineering speciality/ies
- Provide an informed understanding of environmental and historical influences on business and management practice
- Cultivate analytical and interpretive abilities, and enable participants to integrate these with essential managerial and business skills

- Develop the ability to address open-ended problems creatively
