Optional Courses

These are four courses of your choice, also taught in ten-week blocks, from October to December and January to March:

Semester One

• Chinese Language 1
• The Business Environment in China
• Independent Study Module (Chinese Art history or China's Century of Conflict, 1842-1949)
• Social Science Statistics I
• Qualitative  research methods

Semester Two

• Chinese Language 2
• China's International Politics
• Environmental policies and problems in China

Summer (May-July)

• Chinese Language in China
• Internship in China
• Chinese internship plus language in China

The summer internship, language course or combined internship/language course is an elective. You may also choose, with the Convener’s approval, from courses in the other subjects in the School of Social and Political Sciences.
Note: Some courses might not be available every year.
