Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry

Programme structure

• Lecture Courses

Our Masters programmes last one year (for a full-time student) and contain 180 credits. You will undertake 120 credits of lecture courses in Semesters 1 and 2 (September to March).

• Research Project

During the Summer (June to August), you will work on your MSc project, which is worth 60 credits. A research project embedded within one of our internationally-leading research groups is central to our advanced teaching ethos.

Courses

Most of your lectures will be in common with the final-year MSci Chemistry or Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry classes. In addition you will attend the “Frontiers of Chemistry” course together with the level-3 MSci class.
As an MSc Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry student, you will attend the course Medicinal Chemistry, which covers topics from pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, and chemical biology.

For more details about course contents, examinations, progression requirements, etc., see the full Programme documentation, which is available for download in the right-hand column.
