Why an MSc in Automotive Engineering
The Masters in Automotive Engineering at the University of Glasgow offers a unique opportunity for the study of contemporary and future car design against the specialist backdrops of innovative technologies for structural safety, assembly design, nano-manufacturing, automotive electronics, hybrid fuels and fuel cells, advanced materials, EV power, and intelligent systems.
This course will equip you for work in the world's leading automotive companies and will provide you with a competitive advantage based on our renowned and innovative research. The MSc comprises two semesters of taught courses, both comprising compulsory and optional courses, and a major industrial project. Entry to the course can be in September or January and attendance is for a full twelve months. Compulsory courses comprise advanced manufacture, innovative engineering design, experimental aero and fluid dynamics, automotive technology (engines, materials, safety engineering), a specialist computing course, and dynamics (chassis, stability, power trains). The options include control and automotive electronics and advanced control and further automotive electronics (intelligent systems, hybrid, and EV technologies) . The course relates closely to industry and opportunities will be available for industrial project work.
In the most recent independent survey of research quality, the Research Assessment Exercise for 2008, the School of Engineering had 88% of its research activities classified as being of international standard, including 55% classified as world-leading or internationally excellent.
