Money – Funding and Fees

How much will a postgraduate degree cost?

A list of current fees for home and overseas students is available on the Tuition fees web page.

How do I pay my fees?

The University Registry deals with fee payments. You will have the option of paying the full amount at the start, or paying it in three equal instalments. Please contact reg.fees@admin.gla.ac.uk or 0141 330 5378 for advice on how to pay your fees. For any other payment enquiries please refer to the Registry website.

Will I need to pay a deposit?

Sometimes you may be asked for a deposit to confirm your commitment to the course, but if this is the case you will be contacted via email about it well in advance.

How much will it cost? When will I know my final tuition fees?

The tuition fees are set by the end of October. It is YOUR responsibility to check that you know the correct fees. There is a link to Tuition fees on the Registry website. Please make sure you are referring to the correct session. Please also check whether or not your course is one which has a non-standard (higher) fee. If you cannot find the information on the Registry website, please contact the Admissions Team and we will be happy to advise you.

What do I have to include in my application about how I will finance my studies?

When making an application, you are asked to specify how you intend to fund your studies. If you are self-funded, please attach a letter to confirm that you will be responsible for payment of fees. If you have funding from your employer or the Government, attach documentary evidence of this support. If you have been awarded a grant or scholarship, please attach a copy of the award letter to your application.

Can I apply to have fees waived?

No, we do not have any fee waiver schemes, regardless of your circumstances. However, you can apply for a scholarship or funding if you are entitled to do so.

Am I considered to be a Home or Overseas student?

Please refer to our Definition of an Overseas Student web page, which outlines the criteria used to distinguish your student status for fee purposes. This should answer all of your questions but if you are still not certain about your status, please complete a Fee Status Enquiry Form and send it to the address indicated in the form.

Can the University provide a scholarship?

Our web page contains full information about Postgraduate scholarships, including opportunities for Home, European and International Students.
