The SRC hosted a student-led European Symposium to discuss the impact of Brexit on the University of Glasgow on 3 May.

Groups of students from EU countries took part in focus groups aimed at gathering their thoughts and concerns surrounding Brexit. Topics discussed included Erasmus and international student mobility, political concerns, fees and employability. Their feedback will be summarised in a report for senior management.

SRC President Ameer Ibrahim said: “Although there is limited clarity on the issues surrounding Brexit at this time, we felt it was important to address the concerns of our EU students. We have received lots of valuable feedback on a broad range of subjects at the Symposium. This feedback will form the basis of some key recommendations, which we hope UofG will take forward in the future. We also hope that as Brexit negotiations continue more events like this will be held for our student community.”
