Herald applauds UofG reach programme

A major article and comment piece in the Herald newspaper (29 June) commends UofG's Reach programme for the considerable success it has had in encouraging students from less well advantaged backgrounds into degree programmes for dentistry, law, medicine, veterinary medicine and surgery.
A major article and comment piece in the Herald newspaper ( 29 June) commends UofG's Reach programme for the considerable success it has had in encouraging students from less well advantaged backgrounds into degree programmes for dentistry, law, medicine, veterinary medicine and surgery.
The Herald’s education correspondent Andrew Denholm calls the programme an ‘undoubted success story’ and quotes Dr Neil Croll, the university’s head of widening participation as saying: "The programme justifies our belief that pupils living in the most deprived postcode areas were just as talented and capable and had the same potential as their peers attending higher progression schools and living in more affluent areas."
