European Symposium - 3 May

European Symposium - 3 May

Issued: Tue, 18 Apr 2017 11:29:00 BST

The SRC in collaboration with the University is hosting a European Symposium. This event will take place - Wednesday 3 May, 9-11:30am, followed by lunch, in The Hugh Fraser Room, Wolfson Medical School Building.

Last year on the 23 June, the UK voted to leave the European Union. With the Brexit process having formally begun, there have been within that time a broad number of concerns expressed. The University and SRC has addressed a number of these concerns, despite limited information being outlined from government.

We now want to hear from YOU, the student community, directly around some of your views and concerns in relation to - employment, fees, migration, integration and a number of other areas. The findings of the European Symposium will be taken forward to University Management to help inform lobbying for the interest of EU students both internally within the University and on the wider political landscape.

This symposium event will include two 45-minute focus groups, an opportunity to hear from our Vice Principal Internationalisation, along with other staff and students. Lunch will also be provided on the day to allow for social and networking opportunities.

We hope that you will be able to attend, to outline your views going forward, and how the University can work to address and mitigate concerns for the future.

To attend, please sign-up via the Eventbrite bookings web site.
