Campus Cards coming

Issued: Tue, 21 Mar 2017 08:00:00 GMT

The process of replacing all student and staff ID cards at Gilmorehill, Tay House, Garscube and Dumfries is getting underway. Here’s what’s happening for students and staff.

If you are a STUDENT update your term-time address to receive your new Campus Card

The Campus Card Project is set to begin replacing all student ID cards at the University of Glasgow’s Gilmorehill, Garscube and Dumfries campuses.

As well as replacing your existing student ID card, the new Campus Card will offer greater security as well as the capability for a range of smart campus features to be introduced in the coming years.

What you need to do:

For most students, your Campus Card will be sent to your term-time address in the coming weeks.

Make sure both your term-time and home addresses are up-to-date in MyCampus by this Sunday, 26 March. This is to ensure we will send your Campus Card to the correct address.

Find out how to update your student record here: www.gla.ac.uk/students/sset/studentrecords/

When your new card arrives:

When your Campus Card arrives, be sure to keep hold of your existing student ID card. You will still need it to allow access to the Library and sports facilities until all of the hardware is upgraded (expected to be in early June).

The University will post information at each of the locations where the upgrade has been completed and where the new Campus Card will be in operation. We will also issue additional information along with your new Campus Card.

The photo on your current student ID card will be carried over to your new card. Unfortunately, the photo can't be changed.

Any questions?

If you have any questions about your new Campus Card, email the team at: it-campuscard-team@glasgow.ac.uk

If you are a member of STAFF you will be issued with your card while you are at work.

The Campus Card Project is set to begin replacing all staff ID cards at the University of Glasgow’s Gilmorehill, Garscube and Dumfries campuses.

As well as replacing your existing staff ID card, the new Campus Card will offer greater security as well as the capability for a range of smart campus features to be introduced in the coming years.

What you need to do:

New Campus Cards will be sent to you via the internal mail system so it is essential that your work address is up-to-date in the Core/HR Payroll system. To check or update your work address:

1. log into Core/HR Payroll and click 'My Profile' in the top right-hand corner of the Employee Dashboard
2. choose 'Contacts' from the left-hand menu
3. amend your address under 'My Address Details'

Please ensure your details are correct by this Sunday, 26 March.

It is important to note that you will be required to use both the old and the new card until the hardware upgrade is complete, expected to be in June. Information will be posted at those buildings where the upgrade has been completed and the new cards are in operation. Additional information will be released with your new Campus Card.
