Binding: England, quarter black morocco, marbled sides, by Douglas Cockerell & Son, Aug. 1966; replacing a half binding of brown sheep, marbled paper sides, of unrecorded date; binder's note tipped onto rear pastedown.  Size:  227 x 170 mm.
Leaf size: 219 x 158 mm.
Annotations: Occasional marginal annotations in 16th century hands; traces of manuscript signatures survive at the foot of some pages (e.g. “mm3” at foot of leaf CCLIX) - others cropped by an early binder; a pencil number on front pastedown “CN.312 117-”; pencil number "7" on 1/1r (title-page).
Decoration: Four-line initial "C" on 3/1r supplied in blue with red pen-work decoration;  other initials supplied in red or blue throughout, many with pen-flourishing; capital strokes, paragraph marks and underlining supplied in red throughout; leaf numbers underlined in red; 16th-century woodcut of King David and Urias mounted on blank verso of 2/4 (f. 12).
Imperfections: Wanting 37/9 (f. 295) containing the colophon.
