All of our courses are only open to registered students of the University of Glasgow unless otherwise stated.

Writing for Recovery

Where: Level 4 of the Fraser building (access via the lift)

When: 2pm to 4pm Monday 9th October until Monday 27th November 2017

Write to Recovery is an eight week programme of therapeutic writing workshops. The workshops focus on the promotion of self-management for people experiencing emotional difficulties or mental ill-health. The discussion and writing undertaken at the group aim to invoke, in participants, a recognition of their strengths and positive aspirations.

One Write to Recovery group participant commented:

"It lets you see how your mood changes. It helps you see that IT DOES change. When you read back over what you previoulsy wrote you can see how much you’ve changed. It’s like being able to reflect on your journey"

There are 15 spaces on this course.  You cannot do the course in conjunction with either the "Mindfulness Stress Reduction" or "Mindful Yoga" courses.  You must be referred to this course after meeting with one of our counsellors.  Please contact studentcounselling@glasgow.ac.uk for further information.


Mindful Yoga

Where: Studio 2, Sports Building

When: 2pm - 3.30pm Wednesday 4th October until Wednesday 22nd November.

This eight week course will explore through practice the intersection of yoga and mindfulness to reduce stress.  No previous yoga or mindfulness experience is necessary; yoga mats will be supplied.  

There are 15 spaces on this course.  You cannot do the course in conjunction with either the "Mindfulness Stress Reduction" or "Writing for Recovery" courses.

Mindfulness Stress Reduction

Where: Studio 2, Sports Building

When: 10am to 11.30am Friday 6th October through to Friday 24th November.

This eight week course will explore ways to use mindfulness to reduce stress.  No previous mindfulness experience is necessary.  

There are 15 spaces on this course.  You cannot do the course in conjunction with either the "Mindful Yoga" or "Writing For Recovery" courses.
